Study online from Brisbane, the Gold Coast or elsewhere at times that suit your week. You can complete coursework during the day, in the evening or on weekends.

Before you enrol

  1. Get your Queensland assessment

    Apply to the Queensland Legal Practitioners Admissions Board for assessment of your overseas academic and practical qualifications. The written assessment sets out any Australian study or training you need.

  2. Send your assessment to Admissions

    Send your written assessment, academic records and results for any required Australian study. Admissions will check your documents and explain the full-course enrolment requirements.

  3. Enrol in the full PLT course

    Meet the academic entry requirements and complete IOLT’s enrolment steps. Your offer confirms the full-course fee and start arrangements.

Complete practical tasks such as drafting documents, preparing client advice and managing legal matters. There are no final written exams.

Prepare your Queensland application

Queensland applicants prepare documents for the Admissions Board and the Supreme Court using the current admission kits. PLT completion is one part of that application, alongside your academic evidence and suitability requirements.

    After admission, apply for the practising certificate required for your intended legal work.
