Before you enrol

  1. Get your VLAB assessment

    Apply to the Victorian Legal Admissions Board for assessment of your overseas qualifications and training. Obtain the written requirements for your Victorian admission application.

  2. Send your assessment to Admissions

    Send your written assessment, academic records and results for any required Australian study. Admissions will check your documents and explain the full-course enrolment requirements.

  3. Enrol in the full PLT course

    Meet the academic entry requirements and complete IOLT’s enrolment steps. Your offer confirms the full-course fee and start arrangements.

Complete practical tasks such as drafting documents, preparing client advice and managing legal matters. There are no final written exams.

Prepare your Victorian application

The Victorian Legal Admissions Board reviews eligibility and issues compliance certificates for admission. The Supreme Court of Victoria admits applicants. Completing PLT supplies the practical training evidence for that separate process.

    After admission, apply for the practising certificate required for your intended legal work.

IOLT provides the PLT course and completion documents. The admitting authority decides your admission application. Admission and permission to practise are separate steps.

Does completing IOLT PLT mean I am admitted in Victoria?
