What is Practical Legal Training?

PLT is the practical stage generally completed between a law qualification and admission. IOLT offers 100% online coursework with domestic tuition of $6,000.

The practical requirement before admission

Complete the legal tasks, assessments and supervised experience required by your course, then use your completion documents in the separate admission process.

How IOLT PLT works

Complete online coursework over 24 weeks, with practical assessment instead of traditional final written exams. Complete 20 days of approved supervised workplace experience. The 20 days must be completed during your course. Work completed before the course does not count.

Choose coursework study times that suit your life, including after hours. Set aside regular time to complete the course tasks and assessments.

What happens after PLT?

Use your completion documents in the separate admission process. The admitting authority and Supreme Court decide admission.

If you intend to engage in legal practice after admission, obtain the appropriate practising certificate and follow its conditions.
